Looking through the Google reviews of a cinema I’m deciding whether or not to visit. Things like screen size, age of the screens, comfort of the rooms, are important to me. But looking through these images, many having been taken 7 years ago, 4 years ago, 5 months ago; I’m realising Google reviews has somehow become a repository of images - a photobook of the past.
All these people decided to upload images of the enjoyment they had at that time, provoking nostalgic feelings in me - a sensation of a different time.
7 years ago was not that long ago. That’s only 2016. Yet, the me, and you, of 2016 was so very different to the us of now.
In 7 years, a 15 year old turns 22; a 2 year old 9; a 33 year old 40; an 87 year old dead.
Where are these people now? Did they find what they were looking for? Was it all worth it?
